There are many influences on African cooking, Asian, Indian, and Arabian combined with the foodstuffs available in the different parts of Africa. We'll have several African dishes, with a #Nipclub twist!
Enjoy!
Fresh fruit is a very common dish in Africa, with many fruits growing there. It is very tasty on a warm day. We have Papaya, Banana, Pineapple, Oranges, Melon, and Passion Fruit for your tasting pleasure!
Curried Chicken and Banana Spices are a very important component of most African foods. Ours has just a hint of Coconut
Bacon! Wrapped Scallops! Very tasty. Seafood is an important staple on the coast of Africa. Ours are served beautifully on the half shell
Yum! Pineapple Au Gratin! Hollowed out then filled with a tasty mix of Pineapple, Coconut, Cashews, and Bacon! then broiled til slighty crispy.
BBQ'd meats are very popular in Africa. Often marinated in Lime and spicy! Our BBQ Chicken is sure to hit the spot
Green Papaya Chutney from Tanzania, slightly spicy and goes wonderfully with BBQ!
Tanzanian Tacos! Yep, tacos are a favorite in Tanzania!! Not too different than what you would find in the States, slightly spicy ground beef with a corn, chick pea, and tomato relish, a dollop of goat cheese sauce, and served with a sweet BBQ sauce on the side. Ours are served in Tostada shells!
A big favorite in Africa is Sweet Potato Casserole or Pudding. Ours is graced with an anipal favorite ~ Bacon!
Chipsi Mayai is another African favorite. Scrambled eggs and "chips", or more recognizable to Americans as French Fries! Cooked with onions and a touch of corriander and chili powder.
It is usually made from white cornmeal, eaten by hand, and dipped in various sauces. There is also a version made from ground Peanuts and Millet, which is usually spicy
Our Chicken Bacon! and Ham Club Sandwich, just the thing to pack in a picnic lunch when you go out on Safari to see all the animals of Africa
Fried Chicken! N'awlins style or if you're brave, African !! With a touch of Orange, Clove, and Chili in the batter!
Tasty Black Peppercorn and Macadamia Nut encrusted Tuna Steak. Flame broiled to perfection!
A little bit of an Oriental influence here. Black Sticky Rice and Coconut pudding with just a touch of Cardemon and Brown Sugar flavoring, served with Grilled Pineapple. Drizzled with a Tanzanian Honey and Coconut sauce ( recipe here )
Nyizi Nyama A Tanzanian Beef and Banana Stew, served with Michicha, Spinach cooked with Peanuts and Coconut! And plenty of Ugali to soak up the juices!
Thanks for joining us on our #nipclub African Safari! If you can please donate to Abandoned Angels, they are doing a very special job of saving many dogs.
We hope you have enjoyed our menu & please come back as often as you'd like!
